Ankara condemns attack against Quran in Denmark

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the burning of a Quran in Denmark and urged the Danish authorities to take action to stop these attacks against the Muslims' holy book.

"We condemn in the strongest terms the repeated vile attacks against our holy book, the Quran, in Copenhagen," read the statement issued late on July 24.

Turkish top diplomat to attend Ukraine conference

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend a conference devoted to the recovery of Ukraine, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a written statement on June 20.

Fidan will attend the 2023 Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held on June 21-22, 2023, in London. It will be his first multilateral meeting after being appointed as the foreign minister.

Ankara summons Swiss envoy over anti-Erdoğan demonstrations

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has summoned Switzerland's ambassador in Ankara Jean Daniel Ruch on June 15 over a demonstration in Zurich against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, including burning of his effigy.

A group of demonstrators reported to be PKK supporters hanged an effigy of Erdoğan and unfurled banners reading "Kill Erdoğan" during a rally in the Swiss capital.
