Turkish cryptocurrency boss arrested in Albania
The founder of a cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, suspected of having fled Turkey with the assets of his clients, has been arrested in Albania, the Turkish Interior Ministry said on Aug. 30.
Türkiye issued an international arrest warrant in April last year for fugitive businessman Faruk Fatih Özer, who fled with a reported $2 billion in investors' assets.

Turkish Interior Ministry has issued a new circular to the governor's offices of all 81 provinces outlining the latest quarantine measures to be adopted for people arriving in the country.
Turkey closes borders to 6 countries to guard against new COVID-19 strains
Turkey on June 28 announced that it suspended flights from six countries as part of measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a circular issued by Turkish Interior Ministry, the country suspended flights from Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka as of July 1 and until further notice.

Police identify more suspects in Thodex probe
The Turkish police have identified three more suspects in the Thodex cryptocurrency exchange platform fraud case, Demirören News Agency reported on May 17.
Those suspects include a software developer, a financial department employee and the wife of Thodex founder Faruk Fatih Özer's older brother, the report said.

Turkish parliament adopts law on prevention of financing of proliferation of WMDs
The parliament adopted a law early Dec. 7, banning commercial activities of organizations and individuals facing sanctions by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Accordingly, collecting or providing funds to such individuals and organizations also stands banned in Turkey.
