Türkiye's fifth warship TCG Istanbul has embarked on its maiden voyage in the Marmara Sea, the Defense Ministry announced on June 22.

Conducting 18 projects on Horseshoe Island as part of the 7th National Antarctic Science Expedition, Turkish researchers visited science bases belonging to eight different countries on the continent, which hold important clues about the past and future of the earth.

Turkey will never allow Greece to extend its territorial waters beyond six nautical miles, Defese Minister Hulusi Akar said Monday, as he urged Athens to "keep away from trouble."
