Youths constituted 15.2 pct of Türkiye’s population last year
Youth population constituted 15.2 percent of the country's total population in 2022, as this figure was higher than that of all 27 European Union member countries, reveals a statistic by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Retail sales soar 29 percent in March
Retail sales volume at constant prices in Türkiye increased by 28.6 percent in March compared to the same month of 2022.
The annual increase in the retail sales index gathered pace from February's 21.7 percent, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Some 27 percent of population ‘tenants’: TÜİK
The share of the Turkish population in rented houses was 27.2 percent in 2022, rising from 26.8 percent in the previous year, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
The share of the population living in their own dwelling declined from 57.5 percent in 2021 to 56.7 percent last year, according to TİUK's poverty and living conditions survey.

Red meat production up 12 percent
Türkiye's total red meat production increased by 12.3 percent in 2022 from the previous year to 2.2 million tons, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has said.
Cattle meat production was 1.57 million tons, a 7.7 percent rise from 2021, while the increase in sheep meat production was 27 percent to 489,000 tons.

Annual inflation eases for sixth consecutive month
Falling for a sixth consecutive month, Türkiye's annual consumer inflation rate slowed to a 16-month low of 43.68 percent in April, according to official data released yesterday.
April's figure, announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), was down from 50.51 percent in March.
The inflation rate was 69.97 percent in April 2022.

Gov’t to review minimum wage in July: Minister
The government will reconsider the minimum wage level in July, Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Bilgin has said.
