Unemployment rate at 12.9% in November
Turkey's unemployment rate was 12.9% with a 0.4 percentage point decrease in November 2020, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced on Feb. 10.
The number of unemployed age 15 and over decreased 303,000 to 4.5 million as of November compared to same month of 2019, according to the institute.

Unemployment rate at 12.9 percent in November 2020
Turkey's unemployment rate was 12.9 percent with a 0.4-percentage-point decrease year on year in November 2020, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Feb. 10.

Turkish Central Bank to form three new divisions, says officials
The Turkish Central Bank has decided to establish three new divisions in a bid to adapt its organizational structure to its priorities, according to a statement issued by officials on Feb. 4.
Under its Structural Economic Research Department, the bank will form a division in charge of analyzing developments in the food and agricultural product markets.
Population hits 83.6 million, growth rate nosedives
Turkey's population hits 83.6 million as of the end of 2020, while the population growth rate nosedived from 13.9 per thousand in 2019 to just 5.5 per thousand in 2020, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Feb. 4.
Some 459,000 were added to the country's population in 2020, according to TÜİK's Address-Based Population Registration System (ABPRS).
Turkey’s annual inflation rate at 14.97% in January
Turkey posted a 14.97% annual rise in consumer prices in January, the country's statistical authority announced on Feb. 3.
The annual figure was up 0.37 percentage points last month, rising from 14.60% in December 2020, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
The inflation rate in January 2020 stood at 12.15%, data showed.
Turkey draws 12.7 mln tourists in 2020 amid pandemic
The number of foreigners visiting Turkey exceeded 12.7 million in 2020 amid the novel coronavirus-related travel restrictions and fall in demand, the Culture and Tourism Ministry said on Jan. 29.
Choked off by the virus, the figure fell 71.7% from the previous year, the ministry's data showed.
Tourism revenues at $12.6 bln in 2020
With most of the world staying at home due to COVID-19, Turkey's tourism revenues in 2020 totaled $12.6 billion, a 65.1% decline from the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Jan. 29.
Tourism expenditures also fell 74.9% compared to the previous year, down to $1.1 billion.

Turkey registers over 1 mln vehicles in 2020
The number of vehicles registered in Turkey surged by 55% year-on-year in 2020 to surpass 1 million, according to the country's statistics authority on Jan. 26.
The total number of road motor vehicles registered was 24.15 million by the end of last year, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced.
