Size of retail sector reaches $193 bln in 2019
The size of Turkey's retail sector reached 1.1 trillion Turkish Liras ($193 billion), according to a report by audit and consultancy firm KPMG Turkey.
The industry contracted in the first three quarters of 2019 by 5.3 percent, 3.9 percent and 1 percent, respectively last year.
The initial indicators suggest a recovery in 2020, the report added.

Developer Emlak Konut targets $190 mln profit
Emlak Konut Real Estate Investment Company targets 1.13 billion Turkish Liras(around $190 million) of net income this year.
The developer hopes to collect a total of 5.12 billion liras in revenues, excluding value added tax, from unit sales in 2020, Emlak Konut said in a filing with Borsa Istanbul on Jan. 21.

Industrial production soars more than 5 percent
Turkey's calendar-adjusted industrial production soared 5.1 percent in November 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) has said.
That followed a 3.9 percent increase in industrial production in the previous month.

Istanbul retail prices up 1 percent in December
Retail prices in Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, increased 1.07 percent in June from the previous month, data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) have shown.
That followed a 0.45 percent increase in November.

Home sales soar 54 percent in November
The number of residential properties sold in Turkey jumped 55.5 percent year-on-year in November, reflecting the positive impact of the substantial rate cuts the Central Bank has delivered this year.
Since the start of 2019, the Central Bank has slashed the key one-week repo rate- by a total 1,200 basis points to 12 percent down from 24 percent.

Most of households' spending in 2018 went to housing/rent, food and transportation, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) showed on July 26.
