A record number of British tourists are expected to visit Türkiye this year, according to Jill Morris, the British ambassador to Türkiye.

She noted that more than 3 million Britons vacationed in Türkiye last year, surpassing the pre-pandemic levels.

Britain's low-cost carrier EasyJet has said there is strong demand for Turkey this summer, as Italy has decided to ease travel restrictions for Turkey starting February.

The tourism ministers of Turkey and Greece have discussed possible joint efforts to promote the Aegean Sea as a holiday destination at a time when the coronavirus hits the tourism industry globally.

Turkey's Culture and Tourism Minister Nabi Avcı has requested Israel to downgrade the security warning it issued for Turkey, noting that the country was ready to provide security reports. 

Avcı met his Israeli counterpart Yariv Levin on Feb. 7, becoming the first member of the Turkish cabinet to visit Israel since 2010. 

U.S.-based architecture firm has presented a project to the Turkish Tourism Ministry for the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), a contested arts and culture venue located at the heart of Istanbul's Taksim Square, daily Habertürk reported May 2.

The number of foreign visitors to Turkey fell 4.02 percent year-on-year in October to 3.3 million people amid escalating security concerns and a decline in the number of Russian tourists. 

Overall in the first 10 months of 2015, the number of foreign visitors dropped 1.4 percent year-on-year to 33.05 million, data from the Turkish Tourism Ministry showed on Nov. 27.

Turkey remains one of most favored tourism destinations for Russian tourists, amid the growing flight network between the two countries and a concerted promotional campaign in Russia by the Turkish Tourism Ministry.
