UEFA president Alexander Ceferin urged Europe on Wednesday to help eliminate hooliganism, which he called "the cancer of football", days after a man was killed in clashes before a match between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb in Greece.
PM announces soccer club club fan associations will close
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in statements on Wednesday, announced that the associations of organized team supporters will close and only one official association will remain open for each team and operate at each soccer club's headquarters.
PM Mitsotakis meeting with UEFA chief Ceferin on Wednesday
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin will make statements to the press at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday after the conclusion of their meetings.
