Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met on Sept. 6 with top United States military leaders and more than 50 partner nations in Germany to press for more weapons support as Washington announced it would provide another $250 million in security assistance to Kiev.

Two Shahed drones entered Gomel Oblast in Belarus from Ukraine's Chernihiv Oblast during the night of 4-5 September, prompting Belarusian military forces to scramble fighter jets. Explosions were reported in the Gomel district as the drones were intercepted.

The war in Ukraine is at a critical point, as the country’s military leadership, led by General Oleksandr Syrskyi, is implementing a bold plan to reverse the course of the conflict.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that Ukraine's invasion of the Russian Kursk region is legally justified due to Kyiv's right to self-defense. In an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt am Sonntag, Stoltenberg emphasized that this right extends beyond Ukraine's borders under international law.

The new government of Bulgaria is merely a continuation of the previous one, according to Tsoncho Ganev, the deputy chairman of the "Revival" party, who expressed a lack of trust in the newly formed administration during an interview with BNR. One major concern highlighted by Ganev is the appointment of the new Minister of Internal Affairs.

The Ukrainian army is steadily pushing Russian forces out of the Kharkiv region, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. He expressed gratitude to the United States for providing another package of military aid, emphasizing the importance of timely deliveries to support the front lines.

On August 21, the Ukrainian military reported a series of intense attacks on the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army stated that Russian forces launched 46 assaults in the area throughout the day. While 44 of these attacks were successfully repelled, two continued into the evening.

A new Russian airstrike targeted Kyiv overnight, as Ukraine continues to report ongoing assaults in the Donbas region. Despite these attacks, Ukrainian forces have reportedly made advances, capturing several more settlements in the Kursk region. Meanwhile, the Russian offensive remains focused on approaching the key city of Pokrovsk.

Ukrainian authorities have urged residents of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region to evacuate quickly, as Russian forces advance towards the city. Russian troops are now less than 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk, a strategic location due to its significance as a transport and industrial hub, as well as its coal-rich area.

The United Nations rights office said on Thursday that it has asked Moscow to allow it to visit Russian border regions affected by a cross-border attack by Ukrainian forces.
