Macedonia Jails Albanian Terrorism Trial Protesters

The Skopje criminal court on Wednesday convicted the protesters of “participating in a crowd that was involved in criminal activity” and vandalising and throwing missiles at the court building during the unrest earlier this month.

They were ordered to pay a total of about 26,000 thousand euro for the damage to the criminal court building.

Two of four suspects in Nea Manolada strawberry farm shooting convicted

Only two of the four men on trial for shooting and injuring 28 migrant workers at a strawberry farm in Nea Manolada last year were convicted by a court in Patra on Wednesday.

The court cleared two men of all charges, found one guilty of causing bodily harm and another being an accessory to the crime.

Eleven police officers arrested in wiretapping probe

Eleven police officers were arrested early July 30 as part of an investigation into the alleged illegal wiretapping of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his inner circle.

The 11 arrested officers, which include former Istanbul police intelligence chief Yurt Atayün, were all charged with “sharing secret information and documents belonging to the state.”

Russia Forced to Pay USD 50 B to Former Yukos Owners

A Hague-based court of arbitration ruled Monday that former majority shareholders of once-thriving oil concern Yukos should be awarded USD 50 B of damages.

According to the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Moscow is to pay nearly half of the sum claimed by former owners, the Financial Times reported.

Office for KiM calls for Ivanovic's release

BELGRADE - The Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) voiced a request for leader of the Citizens Initiative 'Freedom, Democracy, Justice' Oliver Ivanovic from northern KiM to be immediately released from detention since the indictment against him has not been raised although six months have passed since his arrest.
