Turkey, Iran, Iraq consider joint measures against KRG referendum
Turkey, Iran and Iraq have agreed to consider taking "coordinated counter-measures" against the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government's (KRG) bid to hold independence referendum at a trilateral foreign ministers' meeting in New York, days before the Sept. 25 vote in northern Iraq.

Turkish Presidency ironically praises Erdoğan's 'valuable' meeting with France's Macron
Following the Sept. 19 meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and French President Emmanuel Macron in New York, the Turkish Presidency issued an ironic message saying "meeting with the President of Turkey is valuable."
The message came after Macron's recent reported complaint that he "has to speak with Erdoğan every 10 days."

"We have always supported" the KRG, Erdoğan told reporters in New York after his address at the U.N. General Assembly.

On the same day as the Washington Post published an editorial "unwelcoming" Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan to U.S. soil and urging U.S. President Donald Trump to stop arms sales to Turkey, Trump thanked Ankara for hosting refugees fleeing from the civil war in Syria in his Sept. 19 speech at the U.N. General Assembly.
