Jailed journalist Kadri Gürsel nominated UNESCO's World Press Freedom Prize
The Paris-based Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has nominated prominent Turkish journalist Kadri Gürsel, who has been in jail for 116 days, for the UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize.
His wife, Nazire Kalkan Gürsel, announced the nomination via her official Twitter account.
Israel Freezes Relations with UNESCO
Israel has frozen its relations with UNESCO as a sign of protest against a resolution with which the international organisation declares that the Holy places on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem cannot be linked to Judaism.

"There's chance Pristina's bid will fail"
Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said on Thursday he believes there is a chance that the UNESCO General Conference in November will not "confirm Kosovo's entry."

UNESCO board recommends allowing Kosovo to join
UNESCO's Executive Board has made a decision behind closed doors on Wednesday to recommend that Kosovo be admitted to that organization.
A decision will be made by the UNESCO General Assembly in November.

UNESCO Executive Board "cannot erase history" - FM
Whatever UNESCO's Executive Board decides on Pristina's bid to join the organization "Serbia will continue the fight for the recommendation to be rejected."
This is what Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday.
