Azerbaijan and Bulgaria Ink Program Document on Cultural Cooperation

Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have signed a program document on cultural cooperation,  Trend  reports.

Azerbaijani Culture Minister Abulfas Garayev met with Bulgarian Culture Minister Boil Banov on July 4, who arrived in Azerbaijan to attend the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

Draft on recovery of UNESCO-protected Sur in southeast Turkey passed

A draft resolution over the status of the Sur district in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, which is home to a UNESCO-protected world heritage site, has been passed without being opened for discussion from the agency's World Heritage Committee's 40th session being held in Istanbul. 

Historic structures damaged in Diyarbak?r

The historic city walls of Diyarbak?r, as well as two churches and a mosque, were damaged during clashes in the central district of Sur Conflicts in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r?s central district of Sur have damaged ancient city walls, which were recently inducted onto UNESCO?s World Heritage List, as well as some other structures.
