UN official praises open door policy for Syrians
The United Nations which has come under severe criticism from President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an for its call to open its borders to the recent influx of Syrians from Aleppo has voiced hope for the resumption of Turkey's "tradition of open borders and generosity."

Did someone mislead the PM about the Ankara bomber?
According to Turkish government spokesman Numan Kurtulmu?, the name of the suicide bomber is irrelevant. The only relevant thing is the fact that the terrorist act on Feb. 17 that killed 29 people (after another injured person lost their life on Feb. 23) in Ankara was carried out by both the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the People's Protection Units (YPG).
Gendarmerie command post attacked in ?zmir
Unknown assailants attacked a gendarmerie post in the Kemalpa?a district of Turkey's Aegean province of ?zmir on Feb. 23, using rocket-propelled grenades. No casualties have been reported.
The rocket hit the building next to the command post, causing damage, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Over 110,000 migrants have crossed Med to Europe this year: IOM
More than 110,000 migrants and refugees have crossed the Mediterranean to Greece and Italy so far this year, and 413 have lost their lives trying, the International Organisation for Migration said Feb. 23.
As of the morning of Feb. 23, 102,547 people had arrived in Greece, while another 7,507 had arrived in Italy since the beginning of the year, IOM said.
