The manga style of comics is linked to Japan, however there’s a growing hub of Thessaloniki-based Mangatellers in Greece. Enough to warrant a publication of manga comics written by Raphael Voutsidis and Karyofyllis-Christos Hatzopoulos and cartoonist Manos Lagouvardos.
13 migrants drown in latest Aegean Sea sinking
At least 13 people including seven children, drowned when their overloaded boat capsized in the Aegean, police said Dec. 23, the latest tragedy involving migrants seeking a better life in Europe.
The small boat went down off the Greek island of Farmakonisi overnight, sending 29 people into the water, an official with the Greek port police told AFP.

Syria talks to resume in Geneva next month, says UN
A top U.N. official says Geneva will host new diplomatic talks in January aimed at resolving the Syrian conflict.
Michael Moller, the head of the United Nations in Geneva, told reporters Dec. 22 that the talks are to take place in the U.N. office in the Swiss city, though he says no date has been set under the guidance of United Nations' Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura.
