Powers back unity government in Libya to deter ISIL
Global powers on Dec. 13 backed the formation of a national unity government in Libya, pledging economic and security support to help stabilise the chaotic North African country where Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants have a foothold.
UNHCR to provide 16mn to Serbia to cope with migrant crisis
Since June, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) has donated equipment worth over USD 264,000 to Serbian police at the Presevo reception center.
This is according to UNHCR Representative in Serbia Hans Friedrich Schodder, who spoke during the weekend, announcing that that the UN refugee agency would provide USD 16 million in aid to Serbia in 2016.

Russia calls Turkish troop deployment in Iraq 'unlawful incursion'
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has spoken by phone with his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari to discuss the "unlawful incursion" of Turkish troops in northern Iraq, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Dec. 12.
"The Russian side expressed its firm position in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq," the ministry said in a statement.
ISIL attack near hospital in Syria's Homs kills 16
A powerful car bomb exploded near a hospital in the central Syrian city of Homs on Dec. 12, killing 16 people and wounding dozens, the provincial governor and a monitoring group said.
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) said in a statement that it was behind the attack, and said it consisted of a car bombing and a suicide bomber blowing himself up.
