Before taking up his new post as Serbian member of Bosnia's tripartite presidency, Milorad Dodik announced on Wednesday that he will take an oath before the assembly of Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, Republika Srpska, the day before is sworn in.

The hardline leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik, has called on Serbs who are living in the US to vote for candidates who are supported by President Donald Trump at the mid-term elections on Tuesday.

Former Trump campaign associate Landon Tucker Davis attended an election campaign rally held by the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, the leading political party in Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity Republika Srpska, on Monday evening in the Bosnian town of Derventa.

The US embassy in Bosnia told BIRN on Monday that American sanctions on Milorad Dodik could not be removed easily, despite local media reports that the US would soon lift a travel and property embargo against the Bosnian Serb leader.

AFP - Turkey on Friday threatened to respond if the United States levied further sanctions over the detention of an American pastor which has sparked a diplomatic standoff and battered the Turkish currency.

Turkey's president said Saturday the country will freeze the assets of two United States officials in retaliation for sanctions against Turkey's justice and interior ministers over the detention of an American pastor, while attempting a conciliatory tone.

Meanwhile, the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Serbian flag flying at the White House in honor of the Serbian people represents a great day and an opportunity for new chapters in our relations, Brnabic said, according to the Serbian government.

This is her first visit to that country as Serbia's prime minister.

Brnabic will have several meetings with US officials in New York and Washington, as well as with representatives of international institutions and companies with headquarters in that country, and will meet with representatives of the scientific and business community.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has admitted there could be introduction of new sanctions against Russian officials, RIA Novosti reports, citing an interview with local TV by the US politician. Responding to a question Tillerson replied: "We are looking at another list of individuals against whom sanctions can be introduced."

The controversial Russian motorcycle club, the Night Wolves, known for its close ties to President Vladimir Putin, has invited the president of Bosnia's mainly Serbian entity to their annual party in Sevastopol, in annexed Crimea.

The bike show is scheduled for August 17.

It remains "unknown whether Dodik will accept the invitation", a source from Dodik's cabinet told BIRN.
