White House comments on Tsipras - Merkel meeting
Following Monday's meeting between the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, White House spokesman Josh Earnest stated that "As have done for many years in the past, the US continues to be in close contact with European allies and its partners for economic insecurity in the continent".

Yanis confirms: Uncle Sam says no deal would hurt Greece
Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis on Wednesday confirmed that he has indeed received advise on the ongoing Greece-Eurozone showdown from none other than US Treasury Secretary Jacok Lew.
A relevant Tweet appeared on Varoufakis’ personal Twitter account.
Athens will, by all accounts, request a loan agreement “extension” on Thursday from it eurozone creditors.
