Cat skeletons in Yenikapı metro site reveal new facts
Excavations at the undersea metro construction sites of Yenikapı and Marmaray in Istanbul that were carried out between 2004 and 2014 in Istanbul unearthed cat remains and skeletons along with many other animals dating back to the Byzantine era. Some of these were given to the Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Veterinary Faculty of (IUC).
Blind fawn undergoes cataract surgery in Afyon
A two-month-old fawn, which has been found by locals in the western province of Afyonkarahisar after she lost her mother because it was blind, has undergone cataract surgery in the Afyon Kocatepe University (AKU) Veterinary Faculty Health Application and Research Center.

Deer numbers increase eightfold in Uludağ University project
As part of a project carried out at the Uludağ University campus in the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa, the number of deer increased more than eightfold in 13 years.
The dean of the university's Veterinary Faculty, Professor Ülgen Günay, said they first started the project in 2004 with the establishment of a special deer-breeding center.
Rare Anatolian guard dog has eye operation
Kiyaki, an 18-month-old dog of the rare Akasaray Malaklısı breed, the largest canine breed in Anatolia, has had an eye operation.
During the one hour operation, a hernia in Kiyakiâs eye was removed by Ä°brahim Demirkan, dean professor at the Veterinary Faculty of Aksaray University.
