Bulgaria's Parliament failed on August 13 to secure the necessary quorum to hold an extraordinary sitting. The MPs from the ruling coalition partners, GERB and the United Patriots, were not present.

The MPs from Volya party will stay in Parliament. This emerged after a meeting on March 20 between Volya leader Vesselin Mareshki and GERB PG leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov, reports BNT. 

Bulgarian MPs as expected rejected the veto of President Rumen Radev on the controversial changes in the Electoral Code. The law will be sent to the President for promulgation in the State Gazette within seven days, National Assembly President Tsveta Karayancheva announced.

Bulgarian Prosecutor-General Sotir Tsatsarov said Thursday he had asked the National Assembly to strip six MPs of their parliamentary immunity, said his press officem, reports Focus News Agency. 

Bulgaria's Prosecutor General, Sotir Tsatsarov, on Thursday said that he had asked the country's parliament to drop the immunity of five opposition MPs and one ruling party deputy to probe them over corruption allegations. 

Bulgarian MPs voted with absolute majority on withdrawing a controversial moratorium on public funding for innovative drugs on Thursday.

Bulgaria's President Roumen Radev enjoys the approval of the majority of the Bulgarians - 64.9%, followed by Ombudsman Maya Manolova - 60.4% and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova - 50.7%, results of a poll revelaed on 14th of December.

GERB proposed on July 12 that cash payments be limited to BGN 5,000 (Euro 2,500) from January 1 next year, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

Amendments to the Tax and Social Insurance Code will be discussed on July 13 by the Budget Committee in Parliament.

The majority in Bulgaria's Parliament decided on 28th of June to set up an Ad-Hoc Committee to examine the procedure for selecting the new fighter jet aircraft for the Bulgarian Air Force.

''The case against the MPs from Volya party Veselin Mareshki, Plamen Hristov and Krastina Taskova will not be over soon'', Roumyana Arnaudova, the spokesperson of Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor, told BNT morning programme "The Day Begins" on 26th of June.

According to the prosecutor's office, many actions are to be carried out and more than 80 people should be interviewed.
