Mayor calls off project to illuminate Antalya’s sea cliffs
The metropolitan mayor of the southern province of Antalya has called off a project to illuminate the world-famous sea cliffs of the city as inhabitants strongly opposed the idea.
"We will not ignore the wishes of our people; we will give ear to their ideas. We have decided to give up the project," Muhittin Böcek told Demirören News Agency on June 16.

Charity concert in Athens draws thousands
Thousands attended a charity concert at the capital's Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) on Wednesday night featuring several A-list Greek singers and musicians including Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Glykeria, Giorgos Dalaras and Eleonora Zouganeli in a tribute to rebetiko master Vassilis Tsitsanis.

Streets to close around Panathenaic Stadium on Wednesday for charity concert
Traffic police will be closing off several streets starting on Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of the Panathenaic Stadium, which will be hosting a big charity concert.

Skai TV's charity campaign Oloi Mazi Boroume ("Together We Can") will be presenting the benefit concert "Play Ttsitanis" at the Panathenaic Stadium on Tuesday, July 4, with all proceeds going toward vulnerable social groups. The concert is dedicated to Greek musician Vassilis Tsitsanis, one of the founders of the laiko and rebetiko genres.
