Energy Ministry official: Electricity Law rewritten with EBRD assistance, Natural Gas Law to be upgraded

The Electricity Law is being rewritten under a consultancy program, with the help of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the Romanian authorities are in talks with the World Bank for support for upgrading the Natural Gas Law, Secretary of state with the Energy Ministry Niculae Havrilet told a specialist video conference today.

Over 200 million vaccine doses administered globally

More than 200 million coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered in at least 107 countries and territories, according to an AFP count based on official sources on Feb. 20.    

In total 201,042,149 doses had been given worldwide by 1000 GMT - a figure that does not include the latest data from China and Russia, who have stopped making their progress public in recent days.

Prime Minister Florin Citu said on Tuesday that the World Bank has confirmed the measures taken by the Liberal government in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, placing our country in the top of the countries with "the greatest number and the most applied" financial measures taken in response to the crisis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

World Bank rises Turkey's 2020 growth projection

The World Bank increased Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) projection for 2020, according to its Global Economic Prospects report released on Jan. 5. 

The international financial institution estimates that the Turkish economy grew 0.5% in 2020, up from an estimated 3.8% contraction in June, "amid a substantial expansion in credit," the report said.
