Israel-Hamas conflict could lead to oil price spike: World Bank

The war between Israel and Hamas could trigger price shocks for raw materials such as oil and agriculture products if the conflict escalates across the Middle East, the World Bank warned in a report yesterday.

Oil has already risen six percent since the latest round of fighting, sparked when Hamas militants from Gaza stormed southern Israel.

MARRAKESH - Serbian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Thursday Serbia had presented itself in the right way to investors at the International Monetary Fund-World Bank annual meetings in Marrakesh and that his meeting with Bank of America representatives had been attended by around 20 new financial institutions interested in investing in and cooperating with Serbia.

Mali: Serbia's financial, economic results recognised by IMF, WB

MARRAKESH - Serbian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Wednesday he had had excellent meetings with high-ranking officials of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank as part of his attendance at the WB-IMF Annual Meetings in Marrakesh.

He said the IMF and the WB had recognised the results achieved by Serbia.

World Bank has confidence in economic team’s policies: Lopez

The World Bank has confidence in the policies of Türkiye's new economic team, says Humberto Lopez, the bank's country director, adding that the economic outlook for the Turkish economy will improve in mid-2024.

Earlier in September, the global lender decided to more than double its funding for Türkiye to $35 billion over the next three years.
