Istanbul mayor keeps door ajar for cooperation with İYİ Party

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, from the ranks of main the Republican People's Party (CHP), has hinted that the doors for collaboration with the İYİ (Good) Party remain partially open, despite the latter's recent announcement of running independently in the upcoming local elections slated for next March.

İYİ Party MP resigns citing 'differences of opinion'

İdris Nebi Hatipoğlu, an İYİ (Good) Party deputy from central Eskişehir city, has announced his resignation from the party, citing "deep differences of opinion."

"In my political journey as a person who loves Türkiye and Eskişehir, I have been experiencing deep differences of opinion with the İYİ Party," he said in a statement shared on X, formerly Twitter, on Nov. 2.

İYİ Party to run solely in all provinces in municipal polls

İYİ (Good) Party leader Meral Akşener has revealed plans to contest all 81 provinces, including key battlegrounds Istanbul and Ankara, in the upcoming local elections without forming any alliances.

The announcement comes as Istanbul and Ankara mayors Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş, respectively, declared their intentions to seek re-election in the upcoming March municipal elections.
