It seems that North Macedonia is about to part with some of the myths in its history under pressure from Bulgaria. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev have recently made such suggestions. The reason for this turn is that Bulgaria is blocking the negotiations of the former Yugoslav Republic to join the EU. The process in Skopje proceeds painfully and dramatically.

Katica Janeva, head of the Special Prosecution in North Macedonia, SJO, the body that has spearheaded the fight against high-level crime in the country, submitted her irrevocable resignation on Monday.
Macedonia and Greece Announce Historic 'Name' Deal
Neighbouring Macedonia and Greece announced on Tuesday they have reached a historic compromise solution to their decades-long name dispute, agreeing that Macedonia will use the composite name 'Republic of North Macedonia'.
"The chance is here and it must be seized, bravely, as this is the only patriotic way," Macedonian Prime Minisrter Zoran Zaev told a press conference in Skopje.

Besa Refuses to Commit to Joining Macedonia Govt

Disputes Create Doubt Over Macedonia Election Date
Some members of Macedonian Electoral Commission, the DIK, are disputing their chief's assessment that the country cannot organize credible elections by April 24, the date for early polls that was initially set in the EU-brokered agreement to end the crisis but has now become the subject of dispute.

Macedonia Political Crisis Talks Resume in Brussels

Macedonian PM Denies Role in 'Corrupt' Bank Sale
In an interview for state run MIA news Agency, Nikola Gruevski for the first time has denied involvement in a bank sale that the opposition revealed in late April.
“I have never taken a million-and-a-half euros in cash, nor have I in any other way taken any other sum for the sale of Makedonska Banka. All the other accusations that come out of this are also untrue,” Gruevski said.

Macedonian PM Demands Half-a-Million Euros for Slander
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski is suing the head of the Social Democrats, SDSM, Zoran Zaev, for slander, demanding half-a-million euro in compensation, Zaev's lawyer, Miroslav Vujic, said.
The first court hearing is scheduled for June 19.
