Son of Muammar Gaddafi released from prison in Libya

A son of Libya's ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi has been released from prison in the capital Tripoli, security sources said on Sept. 5.

Al-Saadi Gaddafi, 48, was freed through a decision by the Libyan Chief Prosecutor's Office and the approval of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.

It was also stated that he left the country to move to Turkey.

President Erdoğan receives Libyan premier in Istanbul

Turkey's president on Aug. 7 received the visiting prime minister of Libya.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Libya's Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh had a one-on-one closed-door meeting at the Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul that lasted for an hour-and-a-half.

The leaders later attended a meeting between by the countries' delegations.

Turkish foreign minister meets German counterpart, Libyan premier

Turkish foreign minister on June 23 met with his German counterpart and Libyan prime minister ahead of the second Berlin Conference on Libya.

"We discussed Libya, our EU relations in the context of immigration and customs union and tourism issues with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas," Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu wrote on Twitter.

Çavuşoğlu also shared two photographs from the meeting.

Erdoğan discusses Israeli attacks with world leaders

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on May 13 spoke to his Kyrgyz and Afghan counterparts over the phone amid recent Israeli attacks in Palestine, the presidency said.

In talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Erdoğan "exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings and discussed bilateral relations as well as regional developments."
