Turkish PM Davutoğlu visits Iraq as ties thaw

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu met his Iraqi counterpart Haidar al-Abadi in Baghdad Nov. 20, as long-strained ties between the two countries improve.

Davutoğlu was given an official welcome at the main palace in the heavily fortified Green Zone, after which he held talks with Abadi, the Iraqi premier's office said, without providing further details.

Peace bid must be finalized before 2015 elections, Demirtaş says

An accord to end Turkey’s decades-old Kurdish issue must be completed before the general elections scheduled for June 2015, according to People’s Democratic Party (HDP) co-leader Selahattin Demirtaş.

Turkish PM names 'innovative' professor as chief economy adviser

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has named Boğaziçi University Professor Emine Nur Günay, who is a renowned innovation and trade specialist, as his chief economy adviser.

Günay, known for her work in innovation-based growth and joint projects with Turkish companies of various sizes, is a member of the teaching roster of Boğaziçi University’s International Trade Department.
