Stray dog to stay where he belongs following nationwide debate
Following a small disagreement that turned into a nationwide debate on social media, local authorities in the northwestern province of Tekirdağ's Çorlu district have decided to keep Köpük, a stray dog who was complained to the municipality to be taken elsewhere, where he lives.

A Turkish humanitarian organization along with its local partners recently distributed meat to more than 85,000 needy families in South Africa and Lesotho, an official said on Aug. 11.

Theater of ancient city to be unearthed
The theater area in the ancient city of Perinthos, which dates back to 600 B.C. in the northwestern province of Tekirdağ's Marmaraereğlisi district, will be uncovered during excavations.

The excavations will be carried out by Professor Zeynep Koçel Erdem from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University's archaeology department with archaeologists and experts in the field.

Turkish victory against putschists marked across the world
Commemoration events were held in various countries on July 15 - the fifth anniversary of the July 15, 2016 defeated coup when the FETÖ tried to oust the government in Turkey.
July 15 is now marked in Turkey as Democracy and National Unity Day, an annual national holiday.
Derviş Zaim’s film to release in France
Turkish film "Flaşbellek" (Flash Drive), written and directed by Derviş Zaim, will be released in the south of France on July 12.
The film, which last year won the jury award at the "Cinemed Festival Cinéma Méditerranéen Montpellier," one of the important festivals in France, will meet with French cinema lovers in the regions of Languedoc, Aude Pyrenees and Aquitaine Nord.

Within the scope of a project called "Nevizade U.K.," a group of Turks living in London has been converting the restaurants they rent into traditional Turkish "meyhanes" in a bid to enjoy traditional mezes and local food and drinks together.
Turkey’s power futures market launched
Turkey's Power Futures Market was launched on June 1 within the country's energy exchange, EXIST, to provide participants with the market stability and transparency.
Fatih Dönmez, Turkey's energy and natural resources minister, speaking at the opening ceremony said the market launch would contribute to the development of energy markets in the country.

Turkish platform uses blockchain for auctions
Artiox, a startup based in ODTÜ Teknokent in Ankara, has been using blockchain technology for art auctions.
So far, paintings worth 4 million Turkish Liras ($467,420) have been sold via the platform, Artiox Co-Founder Tuncay Dakdevir said.
