Israeli President Isaac Herzog extended his wishes to Turks on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr in a phone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the presidential office has said.

Kuwait will lend $1 billion to Iraq and commit a further $1 billion of investment to the country, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah told an international conference on Iraq's reconstruction on Wednesday, according to Reuters.

Turkey and Kuwait inked a total of six agreements on March 21 during the Kuwaiti Emir's official visit to Ankara, with one of the deals concerning cooperation on religious affairs between the two states.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has told Kuwaiti businesspeople that Turkey is ready to take part in the construction sector in the Gulf nation, as Islamic banking remains a strong field of cooperation. 

Erdo?an said April 28 during a meeting in Kuwait City that he had learned the Gulf country was preparing for a breakthrough in the construction sector. 

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an will pay an official visit to Kuwait next week, at the invitation of Kuwait?s emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.

The visit will take place on April 27-28, with Erdo?an meeting the sheikh on the second day of his visit.
