Petkovic: Pristina's beatings and arrests of Serbs "recommendation" for CoE

BELGRADE - Commenting on the latest beating of a Kosovo-Metohija Serb by Pristina's police, the head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Monday beatings and arrests of Serbs were evidently "values" that were a "recommendation" for the so-called Kosovo's Council of Europe (CoE) admission.

Kosovo Serbs Rally for Release of War Crimes Suspect

Dozens of locals gathered on Tuesday in the town of Gracanica, close to the capital Pristina in central Kosovo, in the latest of a series of demonstrations against last week's arrest of a Kosovo Serb man on war crime charges.

They held up banners and placards with slogans like "Freedom for all the arrested Serbs" and pledges of trust in Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Petkovic: Kosovo Serb wounded in shooting by Pristina's special police

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Monday Pristina's special police had fired at a vehicle carrying two Serbs, wounding one of them.

Miljan D, who was driving, is seriously wounded while Dusan S, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, is unharmed, Petkovic said.

The director of the Serbian government's office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, said on Friday that the Serbian delegation that met Kosovo officials in Brussels this week had offered two proposals to resolve the simmering dispute over identity documents and vehicle licence plates for Kosovo Serbs, but both were rejected.
