VIENNA - Austria supports Serbia along the path toward full membership in the EU, and looks forward to the day when it would be able to congratulate it as the newest member state of the bloc, President of Austria Heinz Fischer said on Thursday.

BELGRADE - Serbian government officials and the legal representatives of Citizens' Initiative SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic urged on Wednesday his immediate release from detention, arguing that his trial is a political one as there is no evidence to support the indictment by the prosecution office, which charges him with war crimes.
