BELGRADE - The Regional Conference of Trade Unions of the Financial Sector of South-East Europe (SEE) adopted a declaration supporting colleagues from Serbia who are opposing the adoption of the proposed labor law without a public debate.

BELGRADE - Serbia's Labour Minister Aleksandar Vulin has said the amendments to the labour law will make it easier to hire new people, and not lay off the existing employees.
"This is a reform law that has to be adopted, and it will be impossible to put our economy back on its feet without it.

Vulin: Perpetrators of crime against Serbs need be punished
BRATUNAC – A central manifestation to commemorate 22 years since a crime against Serbs in the Middle Drina valley in Republika Srpska (RS), the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), where Muslim forces killed 3,267 Serb civilians and soldiers during a four-year war, was held in the RS town of Bratunac Saturday.
Vulin pays tribute to Jadovno prison camp victims
JADOVNO - Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran Care and Social Issues Aleksandar Vulin as the representative of the Serbian government attended the commemoration held in former prison camp Jadovno near Gospic in Croatia, on Sunday.
In 1941, around 40,000 prisoners were killed in Jadovno, most of them Serbs, as well as Jews and the Roma.

Collective agreement labor law's "point of contention"
BELGRADE -- Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić says "the extended effect of collective agreement remained a point of contention between the government and trade unions."
Speaking on Thursday, he added he was ready to meet "with the unions."
Serbia to Consult Bosses and Unions on Labour Law
The Serbian Labour Ministry has called for the Social-Economic Council, which is made up of representatives of employers, unions and government, to meet next week in order to discuss the draft labour law, a ministry source told BIRN.
This will come instead of a public discussion on the long-awaited legislation before it can be sent for adoption by parliament in July.

They also want clarification on "which version will be debated in parliament."

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Aleksandar Vulin said Wednesday that trade unions' representatives were well aware which labor bill version was ready to be enacted, as the proposal could be found on the website of the ministry and also trade unions’ websites.
