Alexandre Desplat Masterclass | Athens | April 24
Award-winning French-Greek film composer Alexandre Desplat - whose received his second Best Soundtrack Oscar this year for "The Shape of Water," after bagging his first for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" in 2015 - will hold a masterclass at the Athens Conservatory on Tuesday, April 24, starting at noon.

French-born Oscar winner A. Desplat credits victory to Greek roots
French-born composer Alexandre Desplat won his first Oscar after eight nominations. He gave a shout to his Greek mother from the stage. The composer's Greek mother and French father met while attending College at Berkeley though Desplat grew up in france.
Birdman is Film of the Year at Oscars 2015
Birdman, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and The Grand Budapest Hotel were neck in neck at the 87th Academy Awards ceremony.
Birdman, however, snatched two of the most prestigious film awards - best director and and best picture, as well as best original screenplay and best cinematography.

Grammy highlights and list of winners (photos + videos)
The 57th annual Grammy Awards, broadcast on Sunday night from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, had it all, without buts… unless you exclude Madonna’s butt that stole the show. The 56-year-old singer showed up in a see-through black mini dress by Givenchy that particularly showed off her bust. She offered the paparazzi the full view.
Swedish film wins Venice's Golden Lion
Swedish director Roy Andersson's film "A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence", a series of comedic sketches exploring the human condition, won the Golden Lion for best movie at the Venice film festival Sept. 6.
