Women football players get into fistfight

Turkish women's football league has witnessed the first incident of "violence in sports" in history, with players of the Süper Lig team Amedspor attacking the Fenerbahçe footballers at the end of a match in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

Fenerbahçe won the match 2-1 with the last-minute penalty goal on April 2.

Fenerbahçe breathed a sigh of relief on Nov. 21 night in the Turkish Süper Lig, coming from behind to beat archrival Galatasaray 2-1 in an away game.

The victory in the tense game was Fenerbahçe's first league win in five games and came at a time coach Vitor Pereira and club chairman Ali Koç were under immense pressure.

Troubled Fenerbahçe faces tough Konya test

Fenerbahçe has been grabbed by troubles early in the season and will play a crucial game on Oct. 30 when it visits Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.

A solid start to the season, with six wins in its first eight league games, had carried the Istanbul club to the top of the standings, but troubles began when Fenerbahçe lost 3-1 at Trabzonspor on Oct. 17.

'Anamorphosis Atatürk' on display at Rahmi Koç Museum

An artwork titled "Anamorphosis Atatürk," made by Czech sculptor Patrik Prosko with the contributions of Temmer Marble, will be on display at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum from Oct. 29.

The artwork, prepared by the combination of 539 pieces from 93 different themes, symbolizes the life and values of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Fenerbahçe unveils statue of legendary footballer

Turkish football club Fenerbahçe unveiled a tribute on June 29 to one of its football legends. 

In a statement on its website, it said a statue of Can Bartu was revealed at Kadıköy Yoğurtçu Park in Istanbul.

Kadiköy is the club's neighborhood and Yoğurtçu Park is near Fenerbahçe's home ground, Ülker Stadium.

Fenerbahçe announces club will not continue with Belözoğlu at helm

Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç said on June 1 that Emre Belözoğlu would not continue as the team's manager.

Ali Koç delivered a speech and answered questions on the club's official television channel where he gave Belözoğlu the option to stay on as an assistant manager or leave the team.
