Two storks, surprise guests of Patara
Two storks seen in the ancient city of Patara, the capital of the Lycian Union in the Kaş district of Antalya, in mid-January has excited the excavation team working there. The storks were spotted on the walls of Anatolia's first wireless telegraph station, and after spending some time there, they flew hovering over the ancient city.

A Turkish Cypriot taxi driver has defeated COVID-19 and finally returned home safe and sound as Britain's longest-suffering COVID-19 patient to have survived.
Ali Sakallıoğlu, 56, spent 222 days in hospital in London and his family were told three times he was going to die.

Nearly 1.2 million babies born in Turkey in 2019
Almost 1.2 million babies were born in Turkey in 2019, according to data made public by the Interior Ministry's General Directorate of Civil Registration and Citizenship.
Of the 1,180,840 babies born, 8,816 male babies were named Yusuf, and 6,857 male babies were named Eymen.
The most popular names given to female babies were Zeynep, with 13,420, followed by Elif, with 8,586.

Artists Turn Bulgarian Village Into Open-air Gallery

Iran's new communications minister said Tuesday that negotiations were underway with Twitter to unblock the service, which has been banned for years despite being used even by the country's supreme leader, according to The Jakarta Post.onl
"(Twitter) has announced that it is prepared to negotiate to resolve problems," Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi told the Iran daily newspaper.

Rouhani wins Iran presidential election

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has secured the necessary majority in Friday's election, defeating his conservative rival, Ebrahim Raisi, according to the country's Interior Minister.
Rouhani has secured over 23.549 million votes, while Raisi has garnered around 15.786 million.
