President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has officially declared that Murat Kurum, the former environment, urbanization and climate change minister, will be his Justice and Development Party's (AKP) candidate for the mayoral seat in Istanbul.

The historical city walls, which were constructed 2,300 years ago in the northwestern province of Bursa's İznik district, have been taken under protection by the Metropolitan Municipality during the restoration works.

A 2,300-year-old bastion in Turkey's northwestern province of Bursa has been turned into a contemporary art center following a comprehensive restoration process carried out by local authorities.

The 11th Bursa International Photography Festival (Bursa FotoFest), organized with the cooperation of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Photography Art Association (BUFSAD), will be held from Nov. 19 to 28 with the participation of photographers from different regions.

The theme of this year's festival will be "Eye to Eye."

The 2,500-year-old Zindan Kapı (Dungeon Gate), which was built in the northwestern province of Bursa during the Bithynia Kingdom and is similar to the Istanbul's Yedikule Dungeons, has been opened to visitors as a digital museum and contemporary art gallery after a restoration process carried out by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.

Officials in the northwestern province of Bursa are carrying out special efforts to ensure that tourists from South Korea visit the city more, aiming to increase the tourism income of the former Ottoman capital, which is known for its historical, cultural and natural richness.
