Consultations about the forming and the composition of Serbia's next government are now in the final phase, state broadcaster RTS reported on Thursday.

According to the report, a majority of 156 members of the Serbian National Assembly ("people's deputies") has been secured to vote Ana Brnabic's cabinet in.

BELGRADE - Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) MPs on Monday unanimously backed Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's decision for Ana Brnabic to become the next PM, SNS deputy leader Marija Obradovic said.

Aleksandar Vucic says he asked SNS Assembly members to secure a stable majority themselves to elect Ana Brnabic as prime minister.

Some Assembly members from the ruling SNS have expressed their dissatisfaction by saying that they would vote for Ana Brnabic just because Vucic nominated her.

The daily Politika is reporting this on Tuesday, adding that they, in this way, "support him, even if they're not thrilled."

The Serbian president and SNS leader earlier on Monday held a meeting with SNS members of the Serbian National Assembly, amid reports of dissent in their ranks on this issue.
