Parliament elects new Serbian government
BELGRADE - The Serbian parliament elected on Thursday evening the new Government of Serbia, headed by PM Milos Vucevic.
One hundred and fifty-two of 213 MPs in attendance voted in favour while 61 voted against and there were no abstentions.
The new government will have 31 members, including five ministers without portfolio.

Brnabic receives Eswatini FM
BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic received Eswatini FM Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu in Belgrade on Thursday.
The parties agreed there were no outstanding issues in bilateral political relations, which they said were characterised by a decades-long friendship.

Serbian parliament to elect new government on Wednesday
BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic has called for Wednesday, May 1, a special parliament session at which MPs will elect the new Serbian government, with the PM and the members of his cabinet to take oaths of office.
According to an official statement, the session is scheduled to begin at 12 pm.
Brnabic meets with Mexican ambassador to Belgrade
BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met with Mexican Ambassador to Belgrade Carlos Felix Corona on Friday.
The parties noted that 2024 marked 78 years since the establishment of Serbia-Mexico diplomatic relations, symbolising a long-standing friendship and successful cooperation between the two countries.

Sapic calls elections in 17 Belgrade municipalities for June 2
BELGRADE - The head of the City of Belgrade Interim Authority Aleksandar Sapic called elections for the assemblies of the 17 Belgrade urban municipalities for June 2 on Friday.
"The time frames for conducting electoral activities commence starting from today," said Sapic, who called the elections pursuant to a decision by the Authority.
Brnabic calls local elections in 66 self-government units for June 2
BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic on Friday called local elections in 66 local self-government units in Serbia for June 2.
Following amendments to the Law on Local Elections, the polls will be held on the same day as local elections in Belgrade.
Brnabic: With June 2 elections, we are demonstrating constructiveness
BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Wednesday elections for the Belgrade city assembly and the remaining local polls in Serbia would be held simultaneously on June 2, in line with an opposition demand granted thanks to an appeal by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to demonstrate constructiveness so that "work can be continued after the elections."
