US Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt on Monday said that Greece is making "great strides towards creating a more welcoming business climate for investors and entrepreneurs," praising the recently elected government of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for "exceeding expectations" and doing "a tremendous amount of work to advance the reform agenda," the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency

Moria migrant camp on Lesvos breaks new record with nearly 14,000 residents

The notoriously overcrowded migrant and refugee processing center on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos broke a new record on Tuesday, when its population reached more than 13,800 people.

This is more than the camp, which was designed to accommodate just 3,000 people, has ever held.

Mother, child plunge to death from Athens balcony

A mother and her child plunged to their deaths from the fifth story of an apartment building in Neos Cosmos in Athens Tuesday.
According to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), police were called to the scene by neighbors who said the mother first threw her child over the balcony before she jumped.
The identity of the woman and child were not immediately known.
