Romania's Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu attended a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels on Monday that discussed current foreign policy affairs such as Ukraine, Syria, the Horn of Africa and Venezuela.

Denmark looks set to become the next European country to restrict the burqa and the niqab, worn by some Muslim women, after most parties in the Danish parliament backed some sort of ban on facial coverings, reported Reuters. 

Germany angrily warned Turkey on Sunday that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had gone too far this time. The Turkish President accused Chancellor Angela Merkel of using “Nazi measures” a statement that escalated the diplomatic tensions between the two countries dramatically.

Danish special troops currently stationed in Iraq have been given the green light to cross into Syria to combat Isis extremists.
In a move that was foreshadowed last year, the government asked the Foreign Affairs Committee to expand parliament’s mandate to allow the troops to enter Syria.

Demark announced on Dec. 2 that it would not extend a six-month mission for seven F-16 jets deployed at the İncirlik Air Base in the southern Turkish province of Adana, currently participating in the U.S.-led coalition's fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
