Romania's exports to EU states up 4.9pct, Jan.-Apr. 2019; imports up 7.5pct (INS)

Romania's exports to the other 27 member states of the European Union increased by 4.9 percent between January and April 2019 compared to the similar period of last year, whereas the imports of the EU states increased by 7.5 percent, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The exports to the EU states have a total share of 77.6 percent.

Mihaela Triculescu replaced by Mirela Calugareanu as head of ANAF

Mihaela Triculescu has been replaced by Mirela Calugareanu as head of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), by decisions of Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, published in the Official Journal on Monday. Triculescu became head of ANAF in January this year, replacing Ionut Misa.

Prognosis Commission revises 2019 year-end inflation estimate upwards to 3.2 pct

The National Strategy and Prognosis Commission (CNSP) revised upwards to 3.2 pct its year-end inflation forecast for 2019, changing also its average exchange rate estimates upwards to 4.74 lei/euro, according to the CNSP Spring Outlook 2019 - 2022.

Trade deficit, up 751mln euro in first two months, with imports - 10.1pct, exports - 4.8pct

The trade deficit increased by 751.1 million euro in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year, with imports going up by 10.1pct and exports by 4.8pct, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Tuesday.

Net nominal average salary drops to 2,933 lei in February (official data)

The net nominal average salary dropped to 2,933 lei in February this year, less by 3 lei (-0.1pct) compared to the previous month, when the gross nominal average salary was 4,819 lei, by 0.4pct lower than in January 2019, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data published on Monday.

25 Aug - first payment term of tax on financial assets

The tax on the net financial assets of banks will be an annual tax paid half-yearly, and in 2019 the first payment term will be 25 August, Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici announced on Friday at Victoria Palace. The Finance minister stated that the amendments to Ordinance 114 had the approval of the National Bank of Romania, and the European Central Bank was informed on this matter.

Draft budget 2019/5.5pct economic growth, 2.8pct annual average inflation, 2.55pct cash deficit

The state budget for 2019 is built on a 1.02 billion lei gross domestic product representing a 5.5pct economic growth against 2018, a 2.8pct annual average inflation and an estimated 2.55pct budget deficit of the GDP (cash) and a 2.57pct of the GDP (ESA), according to data released on Thursday night by the Public Finance Ministry (MFP).
