Serbia, Bosnian Serb Entity, Salute Russia on Victory Day

Serbia and Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, Repubika Srpska, on Monday celerbrated Victory Day, the day when Russia marks its victory over Nazi Germany in 1945 with huge parades in Moscow.

At a time when support for Russia is controversial in Europe, EU candidate Serbia sent messages of support to the EU as well as Russia.

Who will be Belgrade's next mayor?

The mayor will be elected by the new City Assembly, that the voters in Belgrade chose on March 4.

Serbian President and SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic, whose ticket won 44.99 percent of the vote, said on Monday that the mayor will be known "in about 50 days."

In the meantime, the media speculate about who might take this "hot seat."

Indian embassy donates two vehicles to Obrenovac

BELGRADE/OBRENOVAC - The Indian embassy donated on Wednesday two vehicles, an SUV and a tractor worth a total of EUR 33,000, to the Obrenovac utility companies.

The donation contract, secured by Mahindra and the company Agropanonka from Novi Sad, was signed by head of the Obrenovac municipality Miroslav Cuckovic on behalf of the local authorities.

BELGRADE -- The 73rd anniversary of the death of five patriots, hanged by the German occupation forces at Terazije Square in Belgrade in 1941, was marked on Sunday.

Labor Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Deputy Belgrade Mayor Andreja Mladenović paid their respects at a memorial dedicated to the victims.
