Kayaker Osterman adds bronze to silver at European Championship
Munich – Anja Osterman finished third in the women’s 500-metre kayak event at the European Championship on Sunday, to add bronze to the silver she won in the 200-metre event the day before.
As the competitors crossed the finish line Osterman appeared to have missed bronze by a whisker, but the photo finish showed her neck-and-neck with Emma Jorgensen of Denmark.
Kayaker Osterman wins silver at European Championships
Munich – Slovenian Anja Osterman won silver in the women’s kayak single 200 metre race at the multisport European Championships in Munich on Saturday.
Osterman was 0.213 seconds slower than the gold medallist Emma Jorgensen of Denmark. Third place went to Marta Walczykiewicz of Poland, who was 0.286 seconds slower than Jorgensen.

Poznan – Slovenia’s female pair Špela Ponomarenko Janić and Anja Osterman won Sunday’s 200-metre race at the Canoe Sprint European Championships in Poznan, Poland. While their excellent K2 performances at top competitions are continuing, this is their first gold from European or world championships.
