Slovenia marks 30th anniversary of Brijuni Declaration

Ljubljana – Thirty years to the day, the Brijuni Declaration was adopted, ending hostilities between Yugoslav and Slovenian forces in the ten-day independence war and suspending Slovenia’s independence activities for three months. It was the first international agreement between Slovenia and the EU’s predecessor, the European Economic Community (EEC).

Ljubljana – Slovenia took key steps leading to its independence in June 1991. The then assembly passed the final major independence laws and three crucial documents to create the legal basis that would allow the country to declare its independence and sovereignty at a ceremony in Ljubljana’s Republic Square on 26 June 1991.

Mura win first championship title

Maribor – The Murska Sobota side Mura have won their first ever title of national football champion after defeating Maribor 3:1 in the final round of the premiere league on Saturday.

Maribor had a three-point lead heading into the final round and only needed a draw to clinch their 16th national crown.

Croatia Police Search Agrokor Boss Home, Arrest Associates

Croatian police on Monday arrested Ivan Crnjac, the former vice-president of Agrokor, in charge of the company finances, his lawyer, Ljubo Pavasovic, told regional media hub N1.

N1 also said the police arrested Tomislav Lucic and Ljerka Puljic, former members of Agrokor's supervisory board, and Piroska Canjuga and Mislav Galic, former members of Agrokor's executive board.
