Torched Effigy of Gay Couple Causes Outrage in Croatia
The Croatian President, government ministers, LGBT rights groups and the Ombudsperson on Monday all condemned the burning of an effigy of a kissing same-sex couple and their child at a Dalmatian carnival, calling it a hateful act. The image was torched at Sunday's traditional carnival in the small town of Imotski in the Dalmatian Hinterland.
Croatian Parliament to Investigate How Agrokor Failed
The Croatian parliament on Wednesday will support the establishment of a special investigative committee tasked with revealing what happened to fallen private company Agrokor and its commercial group.
Croatia Cuts State Agencies to Save Money
Croatia on Thursday adopted an "action plan" to cut the number of state agencies, mainly by merging them with other agencies and institutions.
The government plans to cut the number of agencies from 57 to 48 and so save around 3.2 million euro from the budget.
Croatia's budget deficit amounted to 2.4 billion euro in 2014, which is equivalent to 5.7 per cent of its annual GDP.

EC encourages public administration reform
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki said that the European Commission has encouraged Serbia to conduct the public administration reform as planned, and to keep this task among its priorities.

Croatia,Serbia face similar problems in state administration
BELGRADE - Serbian and Croatian ministers of state administration Kori Udovicki and Arsen Bauk agreed on Thursday that both countries face similar problems in that field, but said that Croatia, as an EU member state, is a step ahead of Serbia in terms of regulating the state administration.
Gay Campaigners Celebrate Victory in Croatia
Croatia’s parliament has adopted a Law on Life Partnership, giving same-sex unions most of the same rights that married couples enjoy. The Law was passed on Tuesday with 89 votes for and 16 against.
