The leader of "There Is Such a People" Slavi Trifonov has submitted an application refusing to be a representative in the 49th National Assembly, it became known at today's meeting of the Central Election Commission, reports BTA. Trifonov's application was accepted with 12 votes "for" and one "against".

A seemingly formal decision taken by previous parliaments - MPs quarantined and isolated because of COVID to be able to participate in online sessions - has, as expected, become a "talk" for and against the green certificate, as well as whether it should apply to the members of parliament - to enter the parliament building.

Despite dozens of speculations about who will be GERB's presidential candidate couple, Boyko Borissov's party still has no decision on who to nominate, Club Z has learned.

Prof. Ivan Poromanski, head of the Septic  Surgery Clinic at Sofia's Pirogov University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment and Emergency Medicine, has been appointed director of the hospital, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Prof. Poromanski is replacing Prof. Asen Baltov.

The CEO of the Pirogov Emergency Hospital Prof. Asen Baltov believes that it is absolutely necessary now to introduce very stringent measures for two weeks to contain the spread of coronavirus.

"Our hospital is now working at its limits and the authorities need to think about more stringent measures to prevent hospitals from being overburdened. Perhaps we should already take care of younger children. Unfortunately, maybe even the kindergartens should be closed temporarily. The number of newly infected small patients continues to swell" CEO of Pirogov emergency hospital  Prof.

"Within a month and a half, the number of hospitalized can reach 9,000. The record so far was just 7,200 registered on December 13 last year. This happened two weeks after the decision on lockdown was taken. There will also be 16,000 deaths in April, the mathematical models show.

Nearly 30,000 vaccines have been administered in Bulgaria in the three days since Prime Minister Boyko Borissov ordered that "green lanes" should open for anyone willing to be inoculated against the coronavirus.  The authorities report the public is showing a strong interest in getting vaccinated.

During the weekend, from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, 1,950 patients were vaccinated with AstraZeneca in Pirogov emergency hospital," Prof. Asen Baltov, director of the medical institution, said at a briefing. By comparison, he pointed out that 4,200 were vaccinated from December 27 to this weekend, with 1,250 with a second dose.
