Taylor Swift, The Weeknd invited to join Oscars panel

Taylor Swift, best supporting actor Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, "Elvis" star Austin Butler, "Nope's" Keke Palmer and The Weeknd have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The organization behind the Oscars said Wednesday that it extended invitations to 398 individuals to join its ranks this year.

Tom Hanks nominated for three ‘Razzies’ 

His recent hit film "Elvis" is an Oscars frontrunner, but Tom Hanks was left all shook up yesterday as he earned three nominations from the Razzies, which "celebrate" the year's worst films.

Hanks was short-listed by the tongue-in-cheek awards for his roles as Presley's manager in rock 'n' roll biopic "Elvis," and Geppetto in Disney's critically slated live-action "Pinocchio" remake.

Universal to manage Elvis’ publishing catalog

Universal's publishing arm will represent Elvis Presley's song catalog, according to the terms of a new deal announced on April 12 by the company and Authentic Brands Group, an intellectual property management outfit.

The companies did not provide the financial terms of the deal, which builds on a pre-existing relationship between them.

Elvis to appear at Cannes Film Festival

The new Elvis Presley biopic by Australian director Baz Luhrmann will get its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the organizers have confirmed.

Tom Hanks, who plays the rock'n'roll legend's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, will be among the stars attending the premiere, which comes ahead of the worldwide release of "Elvis" between June 22 and 24.
