Serbia "should align foreign policy with EU"

BELGRADE -- Head of EU Delegation Michael Davenport has said that Serbia, as candidate for membership, should gradually align its foreign policy with the EU.

As he noted, it is also part of the country's obligations under chapter 31 while screening of this chapter would take place by the end of July.

The European Union signed Friday agreements for deeper political and economic integration with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

Leaders of the three ex-Soviet states attended a ceremony in Brussels which marked the step strengthening ties with Europe despite previous Russian resistance.

EC president to visit Serbia on Sunday

BRUSSELS -- European Commission (EC) President Jose Manuel Barroso will visit Serbia on Sunday, the EC said on Wednesday.

Barroso will meet with senior officials in the Serbian government, a statement said.
