A massive explosion rocked Kabul late Wednesday amid fears a British security company had been targeted, officials said, with casualties expected in the latest violence to beset the Afghan capital, reports AFP. 

Wednesday's deadly bomb blast in the Afghan capital, Kabul, which killed at least 80 people, caused material damage to the nearby Bulgarian embassy, Sofia said in a statement.

"The local authorities have closed off the region. The circumstances are to be clarified," the foreign ministry added, explaining that there is no proof that the diplomatic mission was targeted.
