Dendias: Country ready to say ‘no’ to any threat
On the occasion of Ochi Day, commemorating Greece's defiance to Italy's Benito Mussolini in 1940, Defense Minister Nikos Dendias said the country is ready, "with full awareness of its historical responsibility, to restate the 'no' to any attempt to challenge its national sovereignty and sovereign rights."

Students mark dual anniversaries for Thessaloniki
Students from twenty primary and secondary schools of Thessaloniki marched on Saturday morning on Tsimiski Street as part of the celebrations to mark the anniversaries of the city's liberation from Ottoman rule on October 27th, 1912, during the First Balkan War, and the Ochi Day on October 28.

Ancient Roman temple complex opens to tourists
Four temples from ancient Rome, dating back as far as the 3rd century B.C. stand smack in the middle of one of the modern city's busiest crossroads.
But until June 19, practically the only ones getting a close-up view of the temples were the cats that prowl the so-called "Sacred Area," on the edge of the site where Julius Caesar was assassinated.

Gevorg Vartanian, a young Armenian who joined the Soviet intelligence circle through his father, proved to be a valuable asset, even when he was 16 years old. Vartanian’s father posed as a rich Persian merchant in Tehran for 23 years, having moved there in 1930 when his son was six years old.
